PALAKKAD: K S B A Thangal (61), the former chairman of Pattambi Municipality, Vice President of DCC and a Congress leader, passed away. He died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Ernakulam. He was battling cancer and his body will be brought to his residence in Pattambi by night.

He was a member of the MES State Executive Committee and served as the in-charge of MES Central School and affiliated institutions in Pattambi. Thangal was a dedicated member of Pattambi Gram Panchayat for a considerable period and held positions such as Gram Panchayat President and Municipality Chairman. K S B A Thangal is the son of the late K P Thangal and the brother of K E Thangal, who is a prominent Muslim League leader.
