THRISSUR: A motor vehicle inspector (MVI) was arrested while accepting bribe. The vigilance arrested MVI C S George of Thriprayar. He was arrested for accepting bribe to sanction a pollution testing centre. Agent Ashraf, who was assigned to accept the bribe, has also been arrested.

A man had come requesting to change the pollution centre which is in his name to his wife's name. The officer told the complainant that this cannot be changed and that he needs a new license and that he should go and see his agent Ashraf.

He lodged a complaint with the vigilance after the officer demanded a bribe of Rs 5000. The MVI was arrested by a team led by Thrissur vigilance DySP.
