THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: NSS slams Speaker A N Shamseer for his remarks about Hindu worship. The speaker's remarks about Hindu practices hurt the sentiments of the devotees. Shamseer should retract the statement and apologize. NSS General Secretary Sukumaran Nair stated that Shamseer is not suitable to continue as Speaker.
On the 21st of this month, the Sangha Parivar organizations protested against the Speaker due to his speech. The speaker expressed concern that children are being taught myths of Hindu mythology instead of scientific achievements. BJP has filed a police complaint against Shamseer, alleging that his speech incited religious rivalry.
P Jayarajan's statement, wherein he warned that any Yuva Morcha workers attempting to attack A M Shamseer would end up in the mortuary, was controversial. This was in response to a Yuva Morcha leader's threat that Shamseer would face a situation similar to T J Joseph. The Sangha Parivar organizations are protesting, claiming an insult to Lord Ganesha.
