VADANAPILLY: The licenses of seven toddy shops have been canceled for violating the Abkari Act by serving toddy to a 15-year-old girl, who came to a shop with her boyfriend. A shop was closed. The minor girl was given toddy from a toddy shop at Thallikulam's Thampan Kadavu.
The drunken girl and her friend fell sick after vomiting on Snehatheeram beach. Locals in the area informed the police after realizing that it would be dangerous for the duo to continue near the sea. Then when the police arrived, the girl informed the police that the manager gave her toddy in the shop. Then Vadanapilly police arrested the boyfriend and the manager of the toddy shop. They have been remanded. After a detailed inspection, the Excise Commissioner canceled the licenses of seven toddy shops under Group Four that had violated the Abkari Act.
