KOCHI: The Panangad police is in a quandary. The incident of police taking the football into custody four days ago from the ground near the Nettoor primary health center, has not been solved yet. The police vehicle was parked on the roadside near the ground and the officials were engaged in a vehicle check. The police intervened and took the football into custody. The children said that when the Panangad police came for vehicle check they were playing football on the ground. They told the police to move the jeep from there as it may hit the vehicle, but they refused. As soon as the ball hit the jeep, the team led by the sub inspector got furious and shouted at them. The police then took the football in their jeep. The youths requested to return the ball, but they were not willing for it.

The police said the players were playing very close to the road and what if the ball hits a vehicle. Tried to make them understand, but they misbehaved badly. In the meantime, the ball was taken into custody after it hit their jeep. The police said they are not against people playing football. They had asked the youths to collect the football back from the station but no one arrived even after three days. This is an area where many complaints have filed.
