ALAPPUZHA: The body of the youth who jumped into the canal from Thottappally bridge has been recovered. He has been identified as Akhil (30) of Karunagapally in Kollam. The body was found in a search conducted by the locals, coastal police and the fire force.

He jumped into the lake when he was being taken to Vandanam Medical College from Karunagapally Govt Hospital after suffering from acute pancreatitis. He opened the car’s door and jumped into the lake from Thottappally Spillway Bridge. The body was found Tuesday afternoon at 1.45 pm.
