THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 4463 inspections were conducted in one day as part of the state-wide Operation FoSCoS license drive under the leadership of the Food Safety Department. The Food Safety Department has issued a directive to suspend the operations of 929 establishments that were operating without a license.

During the inspection, 458 establishments were found to be operating under registration instead of licences. Notices were issued to these establishments to obtain licences. Also, another 756 establishments have been issued notices for taking license. Minister Veena George announced that the license checks will continue in the coming days. The checks were conducted yesterday in the districts except Ernakulam. Inspection will be conducted today and tomorrow in Ernakulam.
