KOCHI: The Crime Branch will question Youth Congress leader Abin Abraham in the antiquities-financial fraud case in which Monson Mavunkal is the main accused. The investigating team issued a notice to Abin asking him to appear at the Crime Branch headquarters in Kalamassery on August 8. Police are saying that Abin, the fifth accused in the case, is currently on the run.
Abin established contact with Monson and others by introducing himself as the personal assistant of KPCC president K Sudhakaran. The investigation team had found records of Abin receiving lakhs from Monson in his bank account.
Monson, KPCC president K Sudhakaran MP, IG G Lakshman, and former DIG S Surendran are the first four accused in the case.
