THRISSUR: The Hindu Aikya Vedi will organize a protest march against the statements made by Speaker A N Shamseer. K P Sasikala, the State President of Hindu Aikya Vedi and Working President Valsan Thillankeri have announced their intention to hold a protest march to the Devaswom Board headquarters on August 9th.
The slogan for the march is 'Politicians, leave the temple; open the doors for believers.' K P Sasikala and Valsan Thillankeri have also urged those who consider temple affairs as myths to step down from their positions in temple governing bodies. The members of Hindu Aikya Vedi have further questioned the basis in academic syllabi for claims that the Wright brothers did not invent the airplane. They have emphasized that Shamseer holds the position of Speaker and not that of a religious scholar. They have accused the Chief Minister of needing to address this issue, asserting that the words of the CPM state secretary pose a challenge to the Hindu community.
NSS General Secretary Sukumaran Nair has called for clarification from the government regarding A N Shamseer's speech. M V Sukumaran Nair stated that Govindan's response represents solely the opinion of the party secretary. He dismissed Shamseer's explanation on the matter as nonsensical. In a press release, the NSS General Secretary highlighted that none of these responses provide a solution to the anguish felt by the believers.
