BENGALURU: An eight-month-old baby was electrocuted after biting a mobile phone charger left for charging. The incident happened at Karwar in Uttara Kannada district. The dead is Sanidhya, daughter of Santosh Kalgutkar and Sanjana Kalgutkar of Siddar near Karwar.

Forgetting to switch off the plug after disconnecting the mobile phone from the charger led to the accident. The accident happened while making arrangements for their eldest daughter’s birthday celebrations. The baby was rushed to a nearby hospital, but her life could not be saved.

The child’s father is an electric contractor. The Karwar police have registered a complaint of unnatural death.
