KOLLAM: Traffic police have issued fines to conductors of private buses for not giving concessions to students. A lightning inspection was conducted after students complained that concession tickets are not being issued to them. A fine of Rs 1000 was imposed on the conductors of the three buses found not to have given the concession.

During the inspection, the officials heard the complaints of the students directly. Most of the complaints are against buses operating on Anchalummood, Thangassery routes. The Collector has given the order to give concessions to students from 6 am to 7 pm. But many private buses do not follow this.

Students should be given concessions not only to go to school but also to go to tuition classes. The traffic police have also received a complaint that some private bus employees are denying this.

Complaints can be reported to 04742745298, 9497930863

Complaints have been received about students including girls being mistreated. The license of such employees will be cancelled and a report will be submitted to the Motor Vehicle Department.
