THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have registered a case against NSS's Namajapayatra to Ganapathy temples against the controversial speech made by Speaker A N Shamseer. NSS Vice President Sangeeth Kumar is the first accused in the case. A case has been filed against more than a thousand people. A case was registered by the Cantonment Police. Fort police have also registered a case.
In the FIR, it is said that the people illegally assembled in violation of the police order, operated a mic set, and obstructed pedestrians and vehicular traffic. Meanwhile, NSS General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair came forward against the case. Sukumaran Nair responded that if this is the case, the police will have to take a case against all the believers. He also stated that he will not back down from the protest.
NSS Vice President Sangeeth Kumar also reacted to the case. He stated that he had sent an email to the Cantonment Station, Fort Police Station and DGP informing them that the procession would be held and no one told them not to conduct the procession. No restrictions were imposed. He was asked how many people would be there. The answer was also given. Sangeeth Kumar said that he will let the law take its course and will face the case according to the law.
