KOTTAYAM: A clash between the activists of the SFI and KSU in CMS College continued till 9 pm last night. Five SFI workers and three activists including KSU unit general secretary Nihal were injured in the incident. Among the injured, Nihal and SFI workers were admitted at the district hospital and two KSU workers were admitted to the medical college. However, there was a clash between the two groups in the district hospital at night. Both groups were dispersed after the police reached the spot. The police have registered a case against 125 activists.


The activists of the KSU alleged that the SFI activists disrupted the programme organized in the college by them under the leadership of Kalavedi. A verbal dispute broke out following that and there were some chaos and confusion. Meantime, the SFI alleged that while they were conducting their pre-arranged programme without the microphone, the KSU workers tried to conduct the programme with the microphone and there was an altercation over this.
