NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has directed the trial court to complete the trial in the actress assault case as soon as possible. The apex court, which accepted the trial court judge's report demanding a time of 8 months, allotted time till March 31, 2024.
Advocate Mukul Rohatgi, who appeared for Dileep, pointed out that the case should not be delayed. He also lashed out at the trial court judge who sought more time to complete the trial in the case. Although Dileep had demanded that no additional time should be given to complete the trial in the case, the Supreme Court bench comprising judges Aniruddha Bose and Bela M Trivedi did not approve his demand.
Trial Court judge Honey M Varghese had demanded 8 months of time stating that it needs to complete the examination of 6 more witnesses. In May, the Supreme Court had directed the trial court to try to complete the trial by July 31.
