THRISSUR: Beauty parlour owner Sheela Sunny, who was jailed for 72 days in a fake drug case, gets support from 'Thanal' under Malappuram Kalpakanchery Anappadikkal Charitable Trust. It was Thanal that set the stage for the return of Sheela, who had to close the parlour after being in jail. 'Thanal' paid Rs 5 lakh for Sheela's 'She Style' parlour including an advance for a 200 sqft rented room.
The new parlour was started on Wednesday in another room in the same building on Chalakudy main road where the old parlour was located. Inaugurated by Saneesh Kumar Joseph MLA, Minister MB Rajesh visited the Parlour on Thursday and assured Sheela Sunny that those involved in the case will be caught soon.
Many people had come out with support for Sheela who was released from jail after her innocence was proved. Financial assistance was provided by Thanal. The parlour was prepared by the architect Satish with the help of coordinators Mujeeb Randathani, Panchayat Standing Committee Chairman Latif Kalpakanchery, Saith Hassan Thangal and Salam Thumpat on the instructions of AP Abdu Samad who is a Dubai businessman and the Trust Chairman. Chalakudy Merchants Association coordinated the activity.
Thanal for the poor
The trust, which also operates outside the state, had rebuilt the flood-ravaged Pathar town of Nilambur in 15 days. 30 houses and many shops were constructed free of cost. The trust, which has businesses including hypermarkets in India, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, uses its profit margin for the service. Food is provided to the patients of Thiruvananthapuram RCC and Kozhikode Medical College and 2500 people are provided with grocery kits every month.
The help I got from Thanal can only be dreamt about. Very happy to start the parlour.
