THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister GR Anil said that a detailed investigation will be conducted into the incident of staff writing 'not available' in the price list at the Supplyco outlet in Palayam, Kozhikode. This is based on the image of the price list published by 'Kerala Kaumudi' on the front page yesterday.

A preliminary inspection conducted by the Kozhikode Assistant Regional Manager at the outlet revealed that 11 items were in stock but in low quantity. It will be investigated whether there was any mistake on the part of the staff in recording this in the price list.

The minister said that the stock at the outlet at 11 am yesterday was green gram 17 kg, chickpeas 9 kg, kuruva rice 388.6 kg, coriander 64 kg, Maveli matta 32.5 kg, white rice 68.8 kg, sugar 17 kg, Sabari coconut oil 124 packets, Pigeon pea 13 kg, black gram 49.8 kg and 7 kg of black-eyed pea. Out of which chickpeas, Kuruva rice, black gram and black-eyed peas are in the non-subsidy category.

The minister said that since every month tenders are called and orders are placed, it is common for outlets to run out of stock of chilli, black-eyed peas, chickpeas etc. in the last days of the month. At the same time, customers complain that there are no subsidized items including chilli in the Supplyco stores despite the start of the new month.
