KALPATTA: The office in Kalpetta, which had been inactive following the cancellation of Rahul Gandhi's Lok Sabha membership, regained activity yesterday. Members and leaders convened at the office to celebrate, cutting a cake and distributing ladoos. Although the office had been operational for approximately four months, the staffing was limited.
Congress and UDF members in the Wayanad district have reengaged. Wayanad was filled with a festive atmosphere. The news broke that the phone and internet connections were restored. The staff returned and security measures were reinstated at the office.
With the reassignment of office staff to the former location, party-appointed personnel managed the affairs. After the SFI attack, the police provided round-the-clock security for the office, a measure that had been rescinded a few months ago.
The files containing the petitions are still housed in the office. The project aimed at constructing homes for needy families, a initiative championed by Rahul Gandhi, was ongoing within the office premises. The activities of ten Anganwadis funded by CSR contributions were also in operation.
