KOZHIKODE: In a bitter audio revelation, the stepfather of a POCSO case victim admitted to the role of former Thiruvambady MLA George M. Thomas in suppressing the case in favor of the accused. The audio was recorded while the stepfather was conversing with his friend on the phone. In the audio, he says that police officers too helped to shift the accused to a safer place and also accused the DySP of being in cahoots with the MLA. According to the audio, DySP was rewarded for his service with a resort by then MLA George M Thomas.

The stepfather who revealed the happening through the audio tape was also found guilty of the crime. Recently, the victim's mother also came up with a similar accusation against the former MLA.

“ A big house was promised to the family if the girl reverted her statements. However, what we got was a small house. The real accused in the crime also promised to help us with Rs 10,000 on a monthly basis to suppress the case.” The audio tape revealed.

The man also requests in the audio for a reinvestigation of the case. He says the real culprits are still remaining respected in society. The victim's stepfather was arrested for abetting criminals in the case. He was released on parole just days back and was calling his friend when the audio was recorded.

The CPM Commission of Inquiry had already found serious charges against George M. Thomas. Thus, he was suspended from all positions for one year. The report confirmed the serious allegations of intervening to save the accused in the rape case, taking 25 lakhs from the accused, and giving land to the police officer who helped him.
