KALPATTA: 19 tribal children from Wayanad district to appear for the Kerala Law Entrance Exam (KLEE), an entrance exam for various law colleges in Kerala. An entrance exam for admission to the five-year LLB integrated course will conducted. For the past few months, the children have been training under the guidance of the Legal Studies Department of the Central University of Kerala, Thiruvalla.
Central University is leading the training program at Kaniyambetta Model Residential School in collaboration with Scheduled Tribes Development Department as part of the District Legal Services Authority's Niyama Gothram programme. School of Legal Studies Dean Prof. (Dr) Jayashankar KI, Head of Law Department Dr. Girikumar J, Adv Reshma, teachers, undergraduate and research students are providing the training.
Central University also imparts training to tribal children of Kasaragod, Palakkad and Pathanamthitta districts. Professor Jayashankar informed that all the preparations of the children appearing for the examination at the Mananthavady and Kannur centres have been completed. 19 students trained in model residential schools such as Kaniyambetta, Noolpuzha and Nalloornad will write the Kerala-wide entrance exam on August 6 from Wayanad district.
