THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Around 15 people were injured in the stray dog attack in Thiruvananthapuram. The stray dog attack took place near and around Praleyagiri Kuttikad Bhagavathy Temple in Chemmaruti Gram Panchayat in Varkala. The aggressive stray dog is suspected to have rabies.
Several domestic animals and dogs in the surrounding areas were bitten by the dog. The people of the area are in a panic. Those bitten by the stray dog sought treatment at Parippally Medical College Hospital. Although the stray dog suspected of having rabies was found with the help of the villagers under the leadership of a gram panchayat member, no further action was taken due to fear of the Animal Welfare Act.
