NEW DELHI: K C Venugopal, general secretary of the Congress organization, said the delay in restoring Rahul Gandhi's Lok Sabha membership is to prevent his speech in the Lok Sabha. Only the permission of the Speaker is required. K C Venugopal said in Delhi that delaying the action is a challenge to the people of Wayanad constituency.

‘If Rahul Gandhi is not allowed to partake in the assembly proceedings, the central government is then denying the rights of the people of Wayanad. The Supreme Court has also pointed out this. Rahul Gandhi will visit Wayanad as soon as his Lok Sabha membership is restored. Is Modi afraid of Rahul speaking in Parliament? Even when Manipur is burning, the Prime Minister is not coming to the Parliament. The no confidence motion was moved to make him answer in the Parliament. Efforts are being made to bring Modi to the Parliament. The opposition knows that they don’t have the strength to win the no-confidence, he said.
