NEW DELHI: A woman from Pakistan virtually married a Jodhpur native after failing to get an Indian visa. The incident is reported amidst talk of cross-border romances after Pakistani woman Seema Haider came to India with her four children to marry a Noida native whom she met through a mobile game. Ameena of Karachi decided to get married online to her Indian fiancé Arbaaz Khan after she failed to get a visa for her marriage.
‘Ameena will apply for a visa. I did not go to Pakistan to get married as it would not be recognised. We will have to get married again on reaching India,’ said Arbaaz after the function on Wednesday.
Arbaaz Khan, a chartered accountant, along with his friends and family attended the virtual wedding ceremony at Oswal Samaj Bhawan in Jodhpur. Not only the 'Nikah' but also all the rituals related to marriage were completed. Jodhpur Qasi presided over the function.
Arbaaz said that his marriage with Ameena was an arranged one. The talks were initiated by his relatives in Pakistan. The reason for doing Nikah online is that these days the relations between India and Pakistan are not going well. He said that he hopes Ameena can get a visa and move to India soon.
