MUMBAI: As per emerging reports, immediately after orchestrating the grisly shootout inside the Jaipur-Mumbai superfast express on Monday, RPF Chetan Singh dialed his wife and told her to raise the kids on her own.

Chetan’s wife Renu reached Mumbai for questioning as per instructions from Borivali GRP.

On early July 31st, RPF Chetan Singh felt unwell inside the train and asked his superior officer Tikaram Meena's permission to get down at Valsad, where the train was not supposed to halt. However, Meena denied permission but asked Chetan to find rest inside the train. Chetan immediately dialed his wife and talked about his angst about his superior not allowing him to leave albeit feeling unwell.

Chetan called his wife Renu over the phone again after some time but sounded more relaxed and normal. The last call came after he dropped down at Mira Road railway station after murdering four people on the train including Tikaram Meena. Chetan advised his wife to look after the kids and said hereafter he won't be in their life.

According to Renu, her husband years before fell off the staircase at his home but survived. After the fall, Chetan started developing neurological issues which he was undergoing treatment too. Police have recorded all statements and will produce him before the magistrate court in Borivali on Monday.
