IMPHAL: A BJP ally has withdrawn its support for the Biren Singh government due to the ongoing conflict between Kuki and Meitei factions in Manipur. The Kuki People's Alliance (KPA), a pro-Kuki party has written to Governor Anusuya Uikey expressing their decision to withdraw support to the BJP government.
The KPA holds two MLAs. After closely observing the current conflict situation, it became evident that Biren Singh's efforts to maintain government stability were ineffective. Based on this assessment the party formally announced in a letter to the governor that it is retracting its support for the Manipur government.
Simultaneously, the central government has deployed additional security personnel to Manipur as the conflict continues to escalate. Reports indicate that the Ministry of Home Affairs has dispatched ten paramilitary units including CRPF, BSF, ITBP and SSB to the state.
