ALAPPUZHA: A Kathakali artist collapsed while performing on stage and died in the hospital. The incident happened at the Dhanvantri Temple at Maruthorvattom in Cherthala. The dead is R L V Reghunath Mahipal (25).

The incident happened at 7.45 pm last night. Mahipal developed uneasiness while performing the role of Vasudevar in Gurudakshina Katha. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Cherthala, but died later. Raghunath is the son of Mahipal of Kollanirapel and Rethi.
