THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A resolution will be presented by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the Legislative assembly tomorrow on uniform civil code.The resolution will demand that the uniform civil code not be implemented. The opposition may also support the resolution. Therefore, the motion is likely to be passed unanimously.
Opposition parties including Congress, CPM and Muslim League had earlier come forward against the implementation of the uniform civil code. Protest programs were also held in the state.
The ninth session of the fifteenth assembly started today. The Legislative Assembly adjourned on the first day after paying respects to late former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and former Minister and Speaker Vakkom Purushotham.
