NEW DELHI: The Lok Sabha Housing Committee returned Bungalow No. 12 at Tughlaq Lane to Rahul Gandhi after he was reinstated as a Lok Sabha member. Rahul was earlier forced to vacate his residence in April after the cancellation of his Lok Sabha membership following a Surat court order. Rahul after April shifted to his mother Sonia Gandhi's residence on No 10 Janpath Road in April.
Congress said that the committee has informed them about returning residence in Tughlaq Lane and the party needs to respond to the committee within eight days time.
However, Rahul Gandhi is yet to reach a decision about his translocation. While answering media questions about shifting back to No 12 Tughlaq lane, Rahul meekly responded saying the whole of India was his home.
Rahul got the spacious Type 8 bungalow on Tughlaq Lane when he first became a Lok Sabha member from Uttar Pradesh's Amethi in 2004. After No10 Janpath, No 12 Tughlaq was the epicenter for major party decisions for many years.
