KOCHI: The Kerala High Court took a suo motu case on the rare incident of a rat biting a devotee who was queuing up for darshan at the Guruvayur temple. A division bench comprising Justice Anil. K. Narendran and Justice P.G. Ajit Kumar will be considering the petition. After the Guruvayur Devaswom Managing Committee sought time to explain the matter, the petition was adjourned to next Friday.
The High Court reminded that it is the responsibility of the managing committee to provide facilities for the devotees to perform darshan safely. It was after strong media coverage of the news that the High Court went for the Suo Motu case.
