ALAPPUZHA: The forensic team said the spray in the car, which caught fire, was the cause of the accidental death of the youth. The investigation team is probing whether the fire spread to the spray from the cigarette lighter. It is concluded that the fire spread from the cabin itself. The forensic team examined the car and will soon submit a report to the police.

An inhaler was kept in the car as Krishna Prakash, who died in the fire, was on treatment for breathing issues. The investigation team had examined whether its explosion was behind the accident. Experts said there are chances for inhalers to explode. Along with this, it will also be examined whether Krishna Prakash's mobile phone exploded. It has been confirmed that short circuit was not the cause of the accident.

Krishna Prakash alias Kannan (35) of Kandiyoor died after his car exploded around 12.45 early Monday morning. Locals saw the fire and tried to douse it but failed and later it was extinguished by the fire brigade and the police. By then Krishna Prakash had died. A preliminary inspection by the motor vehicle department revealed that there was no fault in the fuse unit or the battery terminal.
