KOZHIKODE: Medical board has submitted a report on the incident of scissors left in a woman's stomach after surgery. The report said that it was not possible to prove when and where the device was left and it was not certain that the scissors were from Kozhikode Medical College. The majority of attendees at yesterday's meeting of the medical board felt that the police report should be entirely disregarded.
Meanwhile, two members have disagreed with the report of the medical board. Medical College ACP Sudarshanan and Prosecutor Jayadeep are reported to have disagreed. The police found that there were no metals in Harshina's body before the third surgery. But the radiologist says that it cannot be taken at face value.
The presence of metal is often not detected accurately during MRI scanning. The radiologist explained that the patient is unconscious and may not be aware of the discomfort.
The police found out that the scissors belonged to the Kozhikode Medical College. According to the investigation report, two doctors and two nurses of the hospital were found guilty. The police gave a report to the DMO stating that the scissors got stuck in the woman's stomach during the third delivery operation in the hospital. The investigation was led by Medical College Assistant Commissioner K Sudarshan.
