Lal could not bear the loss of his dear friend Siddique, he was with him in his last moments. Even when his body was laid out for public viewing at the Kadavanthra Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, he was standing next to his dear friend.
Lal burst into tears after seeing his mentor Fazil. Fazil and Fahad who were with him hugged Lal and comforted him. Siddique and Lal have been inseparable friends ever since they started performing drama and mimicry.
After Siddique's school life was over, his team in Ernakulam Pullepadi was looking for a drama to perform. Siddique had watched a play by Tip Top Azeez. The play was called 'Enikku gusthi padikenda'. The play was performed by Lal's team. Siddique and his friends decide to learn and perform the play. Siddique and his friends went to meet Lal for the script. Lal gave it to Siddique without any hesitation.
However, no one could not nail the character played by Lal. Siddique finally met Lal and asked whether he could play the role. Lal laughed and agreed. That was the first stage where both of them came together. They continued to perform stage show together. Later hit films including Ramjirao Speaking were born.
Lal comes as a replecement
At that time, mimicry was slowly emerging. Siddique and his friend Usman used to perform mimicry at that time. Then they got a program at Vaduthala temple. Usman had to go to Gulf before the program day. Siddique asked Lal if he could come as a substitute. Lal did not object to that either. Both of them took an auto from Pullepadi to Vaduthala temple. They rehearsed the program to be presented that day while sitting in the auto. Both of them were ready when the auto reached the Vaduthala temple. The program was a huge hit and both of them started getting programs in Ernakulam. That's how the Siddique-Lal partnership took shape.
Both of them spent their entire money earned through stage programs by watching movies. It was the era of English movies at Ernakulam Sreedhar Theater. They could not understand any of the dialogue in English movies at that time. But they will be satisfied with creating a story for each film by analyzing the characters' expressions and the contexts of the story. Later, Siddique said in an interview that he learned screenwriting through this process.
