NEW DELHI: Union Minister Amit Shah strongly criticized the no-confidence motion brought by the opposition against the Narendra Modi government on the Manipur issue. Amit Shah said that the no-confidence motion is to mislead the people and people have full faith in Modi.

The opposition is not raising real issues. The no-confidence motion is a ploy to divert attention. Modi is a 24-hour prime minister and the no-confidence motion is full of lies. People electing him for the second time is a proof of approval for Modi and the government. Corruption and nepotism must leave India. UPA government has a history of corruption. People see everything. Modi has a politics of development. Modi brought drinking water to crores of common people's homes and provided assistance to farmers. The UPA government promised to waive the debt.

We tried to create a situation where they did not need to get a loan. GST has been implemented. Free grain was ensured for all. UPA government gave a debt of 70 thousand crores to the country, whereas the Modi government gave 240 thousand crores directly to the people's accounts. Rajiv Gandhi said that only 15 paise of a rupee reaches the people. Now all the money is going to the people, Amit Shah said.
