NEW DELHI: While the Prime Minister is expected to give an explanation in Parliament today on the Manipur riots that have been going on for three months, Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday lashed out at the issue. During the no-confidence motion debate, Rahul said that the BJP killed Mother India by letting the people of Manipur die. Everyone is looking forward to Modi's answer to this today. It was Rahul's first speech in Parliament after regaining his Lok Sabha membership.

The no-confidence motion was brought with the sole aim of making the Prime Minister answer regarding the riots in Manipur. The Prime Minister has not been present in the Lok Sabha since the commencement of the current session on July 20. However, he was present at the Prime Minister's office in Parliament all these days. Since then, the opposition has been clamoring for the Prime Minister's statement on the Manipur issue. Although the no-confidence motion debate started on Tuesday, Rahul gave his speech on Wednesday.

"The Prime Minister has not gone to Manipur because he doesn't consider it a part of India. You [BJP] have divided Manipur," Rahul Gandhi said. You are not patriots, you are traitors. Assassins of Mother India. An attempt is being made to destroy the entire country. Hence, the PM is not going to Manipur. Although the army can solve the problem in a day, the Centre is not allowing it," Rahul said.

Meanwhile, it was Union Home Minister Amit Shah who responded in yesterday's discussion. He argued that the incidents of violence during Congress rule were not discussed in Parliament.
