v-d-satheesan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V D Satheesan said the verdict of the income tax interim settlement board against the chief minister's daughter is a finding of serious corruption. He said the income tax department has found that Rs 1 crore 72 lakhs have been transferred to Veena Vijayan's account and the company's account without rendering any service to CMRL. Important issues can be brought under Rule 15 of the Assembly. However, Satheesan while talking to the media said that this allegation will not stand under Rule 15.

Allegations of corruption should be made in writing as such. There is a provision in the rules of procedure for the presentation of each subject. If it had been presented in the assembly today, the opportunity to present it would not have obtained. It cannot be presented as per law. This is not a subject to be presented for submission. It will be presented with rules of procedure when the opportunity arises.

Tried to move an adjournment motion today. Had Rule 15 been given, it would have been rejected. If tried to present it, would have had to return without presenting other issues,’ said Satheesan.

The opposition leader also responded in connection with the names of UDF leaders included in the monthly payment order. 'Don't political parties accept donations from industrialists, traders and Malayalees abroad? What's wrong with that? All political parties will raise funds. The party had authorized Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala to collect money. Now me and the KPCC chief are in charge. "All political parties accept donations," said the opposition leader.
