NEW DELHI: A woman who was married after being bought for Rs 70,000 was strangled to death and left in the forest. The incident took place in Fatehpur Beri, Delhi. In the incident, the accused woman's husband Dharamveer, Arun and Satyawan, who helped in the murder, were arrested by the police
The police station received information that a woman's body was found in the forest last Saturday. Then the police reached the spot and started the investigation after examining the body. It was found that an autorickshaw was plying suspiciously in the area around 1.40 am on Saturday. Later, the police took Arun, the driver of the autorickshaw into custody.
Arun identified the dead body as Dharamveer's wife Sweety. During the subsequent interrogation, he confessed that he along with his brothers-in-law Dharamveer and Satyawan killed Sweety and dumped her in the forest near the Haryana border. He told the police that he chose the place to dump the body because he knew about the forest.
Arun told the police that Dharamveer was upset with his wife's behaviour. Sweetie used to run away. She would go somewhere else without saying anything for months. Nobody knew anything about Sweety's parents or other family as she was bought from a woman for Rs 70,000. Sweety only said that Patna is her hometown.
The police said that they are conducting further investigation into the incident. Police seized the autorickshaw used in the crime.
