NEW DELHI: A 30-year-old woman has been arrested for shooting her sister in the face in Delhi. The incident took place in the Buland Masjid area of Shastri Park in northeast Delhi. The arrested woman's name is Sonu. The victim, a young woman named Sumaila, sustained gunshot wounds.

Deputy Police Commissioner Joy Tirkey stated that Sumaila approached the police with a complaint, alleging that her elder sister attempted to kill her by shooting her in the face with a gun at approximately 6:30 pm yesterday. Following the gunshot, Sonu reportedly struck Sumaila multiple times on the head with the butt of the gun, as mentioned in the complaint. Sonu was subsequently apprehended based on the filed complaint.

Police officials further mentioned that Sonu had suspicions that Sumaila was involved in an affair with her husband. Sonu has been charged with attempted murder and illegal possession of firearms.
