THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ending its small hiatus, Kerala is said to witness again decent downpours in the coming hours. Four districts will see heavy rain in the coming hours, warned the Indian meteorological department. Thunder and lightning will also accompany rain in isolated places in these four districts.
Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Kannur, and Kasargod are the districts warned of heavy rains. Along with rains, strong winds will also sweep in these terrains, with a speed ranging up to 40kmph.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center pointed out a possibility of 1.9 to 2.2-meter high waves and storm surge on the Kerala coast till 11.30 tonight. Fishermen and people living in coastal areas should be cautious, the National Marine Research Center warned.
