THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Labour organizations, including CITU, announced a strike on August 26 to protest the salary crisis in KSRTC. The unions decided to go on strike the week before Onam after the KSRTC management failed to provide the salary for July month. Along with CITU, the pro-Congress organization TDF will also participate in the strike.
The demands include payment of salary and Onam benefits, and an end to unnecessary fines. It has been decided to mobilize all the cooperating unions in the strike. The strike will be from 12 midnight on August 25th to 12 midnight on August 26th. Joint MD Pramoj Shankar issued a notice for the joint strike by KSRTEA and TDF on Thursday.
