THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Nine officers from Kerala have been selected for the 2023 Union Home Minister's Medal for investigative excellence. SPs R Ilango, Vaibhav Saxena, D Shilpa, Additional SP MK Zulfikar, DySPs P Rajkumar, KJ Dinil, Inspectors KR Biju, P Harilal and Sub Inspector K Sajan received the medal.
SP R Ilango is the Technical Intelligence Section SP in the State Special Branch. He was the District Police Chief in Kollam Rural and Kannur City. Vaibhav Saxena is the District Superintendent of Police in Kasaragod. He has worked as AAIG at Police Headquarters and as Thiruvananthapuram City Deputy Commissioner. D Shilpa is the Thiruvananthapuram Rural District Police Chief. She has also held the posts of Kottayam District Police Chief and Women Battalion Commandant.
MK Zulfikar is Thiruvananthapuram Rural Additional SP. He has worked as DySP at Nedumangad and Pathanamthitta Special Branch. P Rajkumar is the Assistant Commissioner of Kochi City. He has worked as DySP of Sasthamcotta and Inspector in Vigilance and Special Branch. JK Dinil, who is the Assistant Commissioner of Administration at the State Special Branch Headquarters, has worked as DCRB Assistant Commissioner in Thiruvananthapuram City, Ernakulam City and Kozhikode City, as Fort Assistant Commissioner and as DySP in Nedumangad.
Inspector KR Biju works at Chavara police station. He was an inspector at Fort, Neyyattinkara and Sreekariyam stations. Inspector P Harilal works at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Station. He was an inspector at Varapuzha and Tiruvalla. Sub Inspector K Sajan works at Thiruvananthapuram Rural District Crime Branch. He has worked as Vellarada SI and at Balaramapuram as an ASI.
