KOCHI: The Enforcement Directorate has started an investigation into the black money transaction in the antiquities fraud case. As part of this, KPCC president K Sudhakaran has been sent a notice to appear on the 18th of this month. ED notices have been sent to IG

Lakshmana and former commissioner Surendran. Lakshmana has been instructed to appear tomorrow. Surendran should appear on the 16th of this month.

The High Court has granted permanent bail to K Sudhakaran and Surendran in the case. The action comes with instructions to cooperate with the investigation and not to try to influence the witnesses. The government informed the court that both are cooperating with the investigation.

Meanwhile, IG Lakshmana has not appeared before the Crime Branch in the antiquities fraud case. A letter has been given to the crime branch to extend the time as he is undergoing treatment. IG Lakshmana is the third accused in the Monson Mavunkal case. Former DIG Surendran is the fourth accused. The second accused is KPCC president K Sudhakaran.
