KOZHIKODE: The charred body found at Uralloor in Koyilandy has been identified. The body has been identified as that of Rajeevan (60), who went missing from Arikkulam. He was a native of Ernakulam. His wife has identified the body. He was a painter and was missing for the past one week. A search was intensified for him after his wife said that she is not getting him on his mobile phone.
Proofs for burning the body have been obtained. Police said only after the postmortem the cause of death can be clarified and it is not possible to say now whether it is a murder. Police said they have got the remains of his dress and his phone was found burnt. The body has been shifted to the medical college for postmortem. Two people have been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
His charred body was found in a deserted place near a farm on the Uralloor-Naduvannoor Road. His two limbs were found first. In a search conducted by the police using a drone, the area above the waist was also found from nearby. Police said the entire body parts have been found. The body is said to be three days old.
