IDUKKI: A woman died after rocks fell on the top of a parked car near Kuttikanam in Idukki. A total of five passengers were injured. Soudamini (67), a native of Upputhara, died in the horrific crash. The incident happened on Sunday night at 7 pm.

The car belonged to Kambammettu Civil Police Officer Bibin Divakaran. Bibin was on a visit along with his family to Kuttikanam. They were returning after visiting Panchalimedu Hills when the incident happened. Kuttikanam received heavy rain during the night and it was during this time that Bibin decided to park his vehicle nearby and rest. However, what awaited was calamity as the rocks fell on top of the vehicle in a purported mudslide. Bibin’s wife Anushka suffered a neck injury in the crash and was shifted to a private hospital in Kottayam. Anushka is also the CPO of Kattappana Women Police Station.

Injured Bibin, children Adav (5), Lakshya (8 months), and Anushka's mother Sheela were shifted to Peerumedu Taluk Hospital with minor injuries.
