ANGAMALI: An 8th class student drowned in a water body after going to a quarry to fetch cricket ball. The deceased has been identified as Abhinav (13), the only son of Ravi and Laiju, of Munnoorpilly house. He was a student at Little Flower School in Koratti. The accident happened at 4.15 pm yesterday.

When his friends went to drink water, Abhinav went down to fetch the ball and his foot slipped. The body was found during the search after he went missing.

Under the leadership of Assistant Station Officer of Angamali Fire Rescue Station, scuba divers Fire and Rescue Officers Anil Mohan, Akhildas and Army personnel Sajjad, Regis Warrier, Vinu Varghese and Sunil Kumar took out the body. The body was shifted to Angamali Taluk Hospital Mortuary.
