KOCHI: I G Guguloth Lakshmana, co-accused in the financial fraud case involving Monson Mavunkal, will not be appear for interrogation on Monday. The ED had served a notice asking him to appear at their office in Kochi at 11 am today for interrogation.
The ED is investigating the financial fraud that took place during the antiques scam. The IG informed via phone the other day that it is difficult for him to attend the interrogation as he is undergoing treatment for health issues.
In the case taken up by the crime branch, notice was twice served to the IG asking him to appear for interrogation, but he failed to appear. A notice was issued to KPCC chief K Sudhakaran asking him to appear on August 18 in the case taken by the ED. The notice had informed IG Lakshmana to appear today and former commissioner Surendran to appear on August 16.
The high court had granted permanent bail to K Sudhakaran and Surendran in the case. Bail was granted with instructions to cooperate with the investigation and not to influence the witnesses. The government had informed the court that both are cooperating with the investigation.
