KOTTAYAM: The Congress alleged a sabotage in the incident of finding four out of the five nuts of one of the wheels of the car of Chandy Oommen, the UDF candidate in Puthupally constituency, loose. The nut was found loose while Chandy was returning after attending a public programme at the CMS College last evening.
The incident happened when he was returning after attending a function along with LDF candidate Jaick C Thomas. Chandy Oommen did not arrive in his car he usually uses to participate in the programme. The vehicle of Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan MLA, who came to participate in the event, was parked next to Chandy’s vehicle. His driver Harikrishnan found the nuts loose. He heard a sound when the vehicle moved forward. He ran after the vehicle and made them stop the car. Those in the vehicle got out and continued the journey after tightening the nuts.
Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan MLA demanded the police to investigate the incident. ‘There is a possibility of a big accident. The truth should come out. Chandy Oommen had a narrow escape. There is a mystery in the incident,’ said Thiruvanchoor.
