CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stain requested NEET students not to think about suicides. He stated that there will be a political change in the country within months and the anti-NEET bill will come into effect.
The chief minister said that all those who say that they will not sign will disappear when there is a change of government. Stalin was reacting to Governor R N Ravi's remarks against the state's anti-NEET bill.
19-year-old Jagatheeswaran committed suicide after failing the NEET exam for the second time. Saddened by the death of his son, his father also committed suicide the other day. The chief minister's response was after this.
The chief minister said that he is deeply saddened by the demise of Jagatheeswaran and his father Selvasekhar. I don't know how to console their family and friends. His parents wanted him to study well and become a doctor. However, he had no luck. This is a gruesome incident. This should be the last death over NEET exam, said Stalin.
'I appeal that no student should ever make the decision to take their own life for any reason. NEET will be scrapped. The state government is actively working for this,’ Stalin said in a statement.
Over the past few years, many people have committed suicide in the state because of their failure in the NEET exam.
