THRISSUR: I pleaded that I was not drunk and that I should not be implicated in a false case, but I was not heard. Dilip sir's move was like he was settling a feud. I have no enmity with him. Why did he do it still?

SI Amod, who was arrested by Nedupuzha SHO Dilip Kumar for public drinking and was subsequently suspended, told Kerala Kaumudi. Amod, who lives in Vadookara, had gone to the shop to buy the goods. Amod said that an empty liquor bottle was taken from a nearby wood mill and used as a piece of evidence.

TR Amod is an SI at the City Crime Branch. The incident took place on July 29. He was suspended pending investigation by the commissioner the next day.

Meanwhile, the Special Branch also reported that Amod was not drunk in public. If the blood sample sent to Kakkanad lab proves that Amod was not drunk, action will be taken against Dilip Kumar. It is reported that on the day of his arrest, the test conducted at the hospital did not show that he was drunk.

Amod said that he came to know from the Special Branch officials that some of the employees of the Vadookara timber mill were preparing to get drunk and Amod was caught when some of them went to buy water. Even though Amod told them that he is an SI, they did not consider his words.

Suspected that he lied

Meanwhile, SHO Dilip Kumar explained that Amod was arrested on suspicion of lying and he was found drunk in the breathalyser. There is discomfort in the district police over the behaviour of some higher-ups towards their subordinates. With this event, it has begun to unravel. Amod is the leader of the Police Officers Association.
