NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India's defense sector is strong. He made this clear while addressing the nation on Independence Day. The prime minister also said that terrorist attacks have been reduced to a great extent. Praising the defense forces, the Prime Minister said in his speech that India's economic progress has helped strengthen the defense sector.

He addressed the nation as my beloved family members. In recent times we have been hearing about bomb attacks regularly. This scared the people of the country. We were disturbed by the warnings not to touch this bag. Many innocent people lost their lives, but today the situation has changed. The country is safe and when it is secure, progress will be firm. Even the naxal affected areas have changed. The Prime Minister said unity is the basic characteristic of India.

The Prime Minister wished the people of the country a happy Independence Day. The Prime Minister hoisted the national flag at the Red Fort. Two military helicopters showered flowers on the Red Fort. The Prime Minister then addressed the nation. The Prime Minister arrived at the Red Fort after paying floral tributes at Rajghat. Central ministers and prominent political leaders reached the Red Fort and participated in the ceremonies. Heavy security has been arranged in the national capital. The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, which started with the country's 75th Independence Day in 2021, will conclude today. There are 1800 people from various fields as special guests for the Independence Day celebration function attended by the Prime Minister. There are eight Malayali health workers among them.
