PALAKKAD: Minister K Krishnankutty said the situation is that there is no water in the dams and if there is no rain, the power tariff will have to be increased. Presently there is no decision to increase the rate. The minister also clarified that the final decision will be taken in tomorrow's electricity board meeting.
‘There will be no need to increase the electricity rates if it rains. If there is no rain, the rates will have to be increased. Action will be taken to avoid disturbing the customer as much as possible. As there is no water in the dams, additional electricity should be bought after paying money. A decision on the amount to be paid will be taken in tomorrow’s meet.
The minister said that a decision on whether to increase the price will be based on the decision of the electricity regulatory commission after evaluating the situation.
