KANNUR: CPM State Secretary, M V Govindan has stated that the ongoing monthly payment controversy concerning Veena Vijayan is false propaganda. The party has nothing to conceal in this matter. He mentioned that if there are any errors in the affidavit provided by Minister Riyaz, those can be verified. Govindan offered clarification while speaking at the DYFI Secular Street event in Kannur.

He further stated that the media in Kerala tends to support right-wing ideologies, accusing them of bias. Even in the case of Kodiyeri's children, the CPM maintained a stance. Govindan noted that the same principle applies in this situation as well.

Minister Riyaz also expressed his disagreement with the media's handling of the monthly payment controversy. The CPM has clarified its stance on the state secretariat issue. The minister emphasized that no matter how many times the question is reiterated, the response remains unchanged. The underlying motivation behind the ongoing monthly payment controversies seems to be driven by the interests of media owners. Media workers often lack autonomy and are primarily safeguarding the owners' interests, he added.
